A lower bolt might be good - given that its "classic" status. We did it last year and I think the way we did it the rope goes over or through the tree and would have stoped a ground fall, of course other people might stand the other side of the tree and I could be wrong about this. I remember a foothold being glued up at this point but I wasn't game to use it, using other footholds instead. My 2 cents worth.
