I'm obviously missing something here. The numbers I gave were for dynamic loading. The difference between dynamic loading and static loading is the rate of loading. Climbing ropes under static load will elongate about 10%, under dynamic loading it's about 30%. I'm just wondering why you consider a top rope fall, a low force one? |
