fatman, i agree with you.
i'm constantly "inspired" by those who not only climb well but also have some life out of climbing.
Now I know that many of you will look at me and think "Hey DK, you are my hereo", but i think there are other out there more deserving.
Neil seems to have some sort of life out side of climbing, as does Nick, (who i think has a baby as well?), and there are many others, HB, Julian, Dave, Simon etc etc etc who are bunch aof top blokes, but now i'm just name dropping on people who wouldnt know me from a load of sheeeet.
at the end of the day though its my mates who motivate me, as although i do a wee bit of soloing (relax, its rope solo) its climbing with a good crew that at the end of the day that makes all the diff.
even just reading this website motivates me, listing to the advocates such as neil who goes the full 9 yards, BA, robin etc, who put in when others are easily disparaged and so on. i love climbing, i love talking shit about climbing. it rocks!
Climbing is a pastime, something we do cos it stimulates us, lets all enjoy it. take it too seriously and you just look like a wanker really.
keep on keeping on and lets hope the good weather contiues on in to the weekend!!! |
