Does anyone have any details on this? News reports are sketchy...Apparently the guy died from altitude sickness - could this have been avoided? ie should he have descended at the first sign of problems, rather than insisting that he stay and attempt the summit?
Also, his team (or family?) have insisted that his body be brought down - what are the ethical questions raised here when that involves sending sherpas up to 7400 metres to bring the body back?
*Not making any judgements; just interested in questions that arise from the incident - call me devil's advocate!* |
