If interested in climbing history, please sign up for my writings at http://bigwalls.substack.com My recent research on Tita Piaz has been interesting—in a way, the first sport climber in that he had no qualms about using technology (pitons) to make technical climbs safer, in an era when any piton used on a climb, free or not, was considered “artificial aid”.
