VCC have run rescue courses in the past. I did one and found it quite good. Cost was negligible (if any, beyond VCC membership). There are also a lot of great videos on YouTube - easily the cheapest option, and allows you to go over techniques repeatedly until you understand them. If you don't actually practice it from time to time though I think you lose it pretty quickly.
