Well there obviously isn't any sort of balance here at all. This is very likely just the start of a series of Arapiles bans that will likely cover most of the mount. Why wouldn't it? They're just starting with the crags closest to the camp sites first. Parks seem to have no genuine interest in actually assessing crags for cultural heritage or trying to come up with any sort of workable compromise - just slap on total bans left, right and centre and then drag their feet forever. At this rate it will take me months to get back into shape if the ridiculous lockdown ever ends. By then there will be absolutely nowhere worthwhile to go climbing. |
