Last time I did a pulley I spent a while aiding things - I did some at Nowra and really popular areas. A lot of people asked me what I was up to, and told me that I needed a belayer and perhaps I might want to clip the line of bolts next to the crack I was aiding. My placements were sooo good at the time (please read sarcasm) that it was truly a scary experience for some parts anyway. I was aiding, using a rap rape as a back up, and occasionally I'd wait for a good few metres before snugging the line back in...until I got to a really dodgy placement then I'd be all arm and legs trying to take the slack out of the system.
