Are you close to any of the big climbing gym's, if so pay them a visit and ask questions and I encourage you to go ahead and do it as it sounds like you have a few people interested. A while back a buddy and fellow climber held a comp for local climbers on his woody. We formed 2 teams of 5, each person set two routes, points awarded according to how successful we were on each climb with awards for best route, best flash, best fall etc. It was a blast. Finished with a barbie and presentation. Uncarved block sponsored the comp and sent us a collection of gear for prizes, have a talk to them as well. Good luck.
