I was out at Bungonia today and there are signs up saying the park (and the Morton NP) are closed for feral animal control from the 12 -18 September.
I thought I'd post this just in case anyone was planning a trip there during this period.
It would be a bummer to drive a few hours to Bungonia to go climbing and find it closed.

About time Parks did something about the 'ferals'.

I wonder if that means that the boys with their guns are getting a private game park for the week...

It doesn't.
The only feral animals they shoot are feral goats and I'm pretty sure National Parks use helicopters for that. All other feral animals(foxes, pigs, dogs) are either baited or trapped.

Not sure how you would use a helicopter to shoot a goat in the gorge.

Very carefully?

I think most of the goats and the goat shooting takes place in the Shoalhaven Gorge. There are a ship load down there. As the Morton N.P connects directly to Bungonia N.P, they close both parks for the period of the feral animal control for safety reasons.
I'm probably heading out there tomorrow or the next day. I'll ask one of the rangers.

I didn't think I needed to add that bit.
Yes, they shoot the trapped dogs, pigs, etc.
I don't think they shoot the baited ones.
