The tour of the Middle Head Forts put on by NPWS for volunteers last weekend was really interesting. I should post photos. As well as lots of gun emplacements, tunnels and stuff, we found the underground 'tiger cages' where they tortured commando troops to supposively toughen them up before sending them to Vietnam (kinda backfired not surprisingly, most ended up with PTSD or hospitalisation) and also where they filmed the classic 70's bikie film Stone.
