OT - cattle grazing in the alps 5-Jan-2015 At 11:50:08 PM Reluctant

Here was the opportunity for the conservation doomsayers to put a full stop to the cattlemen grazing plan for ever and a day with study data that was going to show how delicate nature was. Or so we were told after the study went ahead despite the media storm 2 years ago.
Now no test program with "complete" data. Perhaps some indicative results weren't going a party's way. Better to have an undefined data set and issue to argue and get emotive about than facts by experiment and observation. Once called the scientific process. But I'm getting old because apparently facts now belong to whom can elicit the most emotion from the largest soapbox.

oh and don't worry about the cattle. Rabbit numbers are going back up and they f'd the place in the early 80's. I lived in both Corryong and khancoban at the time. Between them and cane toads --- but they are not sexy because there's no one to blame, fight, or call the harbinger of death (grazier).
