What do you drive to the crag?

So having just bought a 2003 Subaru Forester (expanding family, delusionally in hope of one day driving on an actual fire trail) I'm amazed how many Soobys I've seen on the road!
SO is this the ultimate crag car?
Or have I just bought the 2000's version of the Nissan Urvan?

My Forester is for sale if anyone is interested. Its a white 2001 GT. It has possibly done a few km's on fire trials, etc. Good crag car with plenty of reg. $3500

Last time you had it near a crag bundy with me it blew a tire..but that was many a year ago so it may have been and older one?..though year sound right

Not a forester but an Impreza hatchback. Made the conversion a year ago and have never looked back. Love it.

I've (still) got an 02 suby outback for sale, bursting with comfort and reliability and sure to make you stand out at the crag...it seems that not being a commodore is a major stumbling point trying to sell cars in Mount Gambier...

Have a 02 forester too. Selling it soon. Very reliable, but the teens legs do not fit in the back anymore, nor does gear four four adults and ten days worth of everything else. The new forester is even worse in terms of storage, but marginally better on leg room - marginally. New crag vehicle is the 2.2 santa Fe - goes like a stabbed rat and uses much less fuel than the sub ever did. Buckets of room too. Will not be as off road worthy as the sub - less clearance, but honestly never really needed the clearance in the sub, just used the awd gravel handling.

No. You ride your bicycle from the station. You drive a car to the crag.

That was 2 blown tires. We used my spare, and stole Vanessa's spare.

Proud to be the first vote under the category "I just bludge lifts off mates with cars".

Im generally soon forgiven after a generous petrol contribution that is often accompanied by half a dozen eggs from my back yard chooks (a special mention to Rosie, Lotty and Dotty for their contribution to the climbing community).

Have also taken the train and cycled to Werribee Gorge and caught a train/bus to Horsham many times with an arranged pickup. I have yet to experience a Horsham Taxi service, if there is such a thing?

Yeah, there's taxis here. Only caught a couple but so far I'm 2 from 2 on drivers with colourful stories.

For the record - this is our first car. Until the second baby came along, we bludged lifts, caught trains or on rare occasions rented. OH and I rode everywhere with my daughter in the Yepp baby carrier!
But now with two kids - we had to bite the bullet.

Looks like we're going to be lost in a sea of Foresters next visit to the crag!
