I think the Dan Mazur guy once upon a time had a conversation on one of the mountaineering mailing lists or something. Anyway, my email address ended up in the book of interested parties and started getting these biannual mass spam emails about doing big treks/peaks. The last one I received I found an "unsubscribe" link down the bottom of it. I clicked it and confirmed and I haven't been spammed to hell yet, but I'm not sure it's been long enough to confirm I'll never receive another email from them....
