I spoke with the ranger yesterday and she is really happy about how climbers have been respecting the request to stay on the track and let the slope below the cliff regenerate from the fires. Apparently its going gang busters after all this recent rain. No doubt the crag is cleaning up too! Thanks everybody for getting the word out and doing the right thing.

The next working bee day is Saturday 29 March. Stick it in your diaries! We'll spend the morning doing a few jobs around the cliff, including erecting some signs for the new tracks, move some stones around to protect the aboriginal midden, and do bushcare and weeding around the crag to remove baby asparagus, lantana and other nasties before they get big again. After lunch plenty of time to go climbing, and we'll be right at the crag. We also need a posse of volunteers to circumnavigate the headland (it takes about 2 hours of rock scrambling) to photograph and GPS map bitou bush regeneration on the sea side. The group will take some loppers and glyphophosphate and kill any easy-to-get-to seedlings along the way. Don't get too side-tracked oogling at all the rock architecture out there.

There may also be afternoon swimming involved.

Everybody is welcome, so if you are keen to come please send an email to bitoubash@gmail.com so I can organise a free parking pass for you.

The last few days out have been great fun and word is spreading amongst the NPWS. Last working bee we shared with the Barrenjoey Keepers Bushcare group but this day is ours alone as they are organised enough to have their own calendar now. Plus we want to focus on the rocky areas!

If you can't make this one, the next ones are

6 July Sunday
15-16 November 3rd weekend (possible sleep over in the lighthouse)
