On average the articles in rock are not as interesting as those in US mags but 1000 times more interesting than those in UK mags. The cool thing about rock is its articles are mainly about aussie achievements, crags and personalities. Eg the article that Steve Monks contributed was a great read. No flowery bull crap.

I think the news section in rock is fine but just a bit slow compared to web based methods like ( 8a.nu , chockstone.org and climbing.com.au). Its good to have things of paper for historical purposes. Perhaps the new routes section is a bit dated (with the advent of web based guides). A solution to that could be a yearly routes update add on to rock on recycled paper :)

Presumably the mixture of sport/trad/bowl/mount covered in the mag is dependent on the audience and the contributors. There is a distinct lack of posters in rock mags.
