The Art is...Of Our land Festival presents...

Saturday 1st June - open Mike night at the Nati Cafe -from 8.30pm,

Saturday 8th June - Shrink and Swell of Knots -Brought to you by Arapiles Community Theatre and La Mama Mobile. Soliders Memorial Hall 8pm start - door and bar from 7.30pm

The lighter the twist, the greater the strength. He bends and slips to make it right. What’s the best hitch to be borne away? How many loops in a love note to life?
A man starts to build his own coffin but decides to turn it into a raft. He is struggling to unravel his emotional and mental knots so he can leave his grandchild one simple important piece of advice. Written and performed by award winning actor and composer Ben Grant and co-directed by Christian Leavesley. The Shrink And Swell Of Knots is a show filled with music, ideas and struggle that will keep you thinking long after the hour is over.

Dave Jones will be projecting animations onto the Masonic Hall in Horsham too..

“Stories of Our Land” is a large-scale video installation that will transform the iconic Horsham building, the Masonic Hall. 6pm Friday 7th June
This animated project will be created by internationally renowned animator and local Natimuk resident, Dave Jones. Dave will run creative workshops with our culturally diverse community that will inform the images created.
Enjoy the traditional Art is… big Friday night with musicians from 8Foot Felix creating a live improvised soundtrack to the launch of Stories of Our Land. Other activities include performances from BeAt, Wimmera Choir and the announcement of the Wimmera Mail Times & Camera House Photography Competition. Join us after the launch to see 8Foot Felix perform live at the Commercial Hotel After its initial launch, the works will play on a continuous loop each night after dark, over the long-weekend.
Stories of Our Land has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts and funding and advisory body.
