thanks andrew i spoke with telstra last week about it, they are pretty cheap, but i wouldnt use it often enough to warrant buying one outright.. i want one for an upcoming trip im doing as its to remote area and would like the 'security' of having communication at hand if the need arised, i also have some sponsorship commitments etc that require frequent contact / updates.. i spoke to gstar yesterday and they dont garauntee reception in south america, only australia and 250nm off the coast.. thanks anyways
