I'm a fan of both Stu and ME and it's a shame to see them at loggerheads. I think that the guide is a quality publication that is ridiculously cheap for the massive work that's gone into it, but that's the sort of guy Stu is. I also know that ME have put heaps of cash into the Sydney Rockies' rebolting fund - including the proceeds from their donated gear auctions at the Reel Rock festival - and provide an annual trip leader's prize, among other efforts aimed at fostering NSW climbing. As I understand it they were concerned that selling the guide for $20 would actually rip off climbers who could get it for $13.45 from Lulu or Stu.
