why don't you use your belay loop? |

The story I got from the SAR monkeys was that it was pretty obvious that it had worn at the bottom from settling into position and not rotating. Also of note would be that he was zinging down fixed STATIC lines on a grigri so stopping suddenly at the anchor would be a fair jolt. If you're going to use a belay loop it is a simple effort to tie on a replaceable piece of cord/webbing and tape them together. What's that old adage about trusting one piece of gear...? |
