So, flogging a dead horse....
Smitten can be got for $15 as a download. I can live with that, and Ed should still get something (probably about the same as for a DVD actually!). So now I've grabbed a copy and watched it.
I actually thought the filming was in many ways better than the polished OS stuff. You could see how hard a lot of the routes were, and I had a better idea of what the holds were like than I do on most of the big name videos. A few shots had holds obscured, but that's climbing.
The soundtrack was meh, but it was low budget so what do you expect. I suspect one of the tracks at least was by a bloke who was involved with Coming at Ya Hyper, but since my copy of that got nicked several years ago I can't confirm.
The BASE jumping I wasn't overly impressed with, having seen quite a few wingsuit videos, but it was OK. The filler bits were generally blah, and felt a bit like emulating various Tropfest finalists (the spade bit in particular). Interviews were a mixed bag, but the Cossey interview was quite fun, particularly the last line.
The main thing is that there was some very cool climbing, and that Ed's still kicking around and getting motivated. Both are reasonably inspiring to get out and do stuff (though my crag-bashing today didn't pay off. Still, 3 or 4 more relatively local places to try to beat rodw to left).
