Hey Ray, don't know if this helps you, but I work as a professional guitarist throughout Asia, and especially in far Western China (Chengdu)... I've regularly shipped my guitars and other stuff using an excess (unaccompanied baggage) company in Botany, last time it cost me $240 to ship 100kg all the way to Chengdu from Sydney, and it arrives in a couple of days...
