so do white skinned australians have more rights than australians of color?
do rich people have more rights than impoverished people?
does a tax-paying 35 year old have more rights to a donor kidney than a non-taxpaying 5 year old?
whose rights supersede others rights? who makes the decision?
do you believe that only the loudest get to make the decision?
was arapiles the only location people could celebrate new years with loud music?
as far as i know, there aren't any 100m rock faces in melbourne, ballarat, geelong where people could get up in the morning and climb. so, why were the partiers at araps afforded more rights than the non-partiers?
i'm glad i'm not a dark-skinned, poor, mute australian.
and yes, this does relate to rock-climbing. who decides when a crag should be bolted or bolt free? who decides when fixed tat should be removed? who decides if numerous fire rings on the ground is the best way to preserve the flora? or did anyone even consider that celebrating an arbitrary calendar change may not be the best way to forge a community-assuming anyone in victoria cares more about a climbing community than drinking.
