When seconding, once the leader has put you on belay, yell out "CLIMBING!", and then tactfully wait on the ground doing bugger all for about 30 seconds. This is the only way to get a lazy leader to take enough slack to stop you from hitting the ground with rope stretch, if you come off of the first couple moves.
