Voted. Hydrogen storage is a longstanding problem and one of the things stopping practical electric cars and fuel cells right now. Energy storage is going to be a big area with the push for renewable energy.

I actually had to look at the other contestants though:

Dr Anina: synaesthesia, how people's brains see colours and stuff. Hardly world changing.

Dr Tracey: marine biologist monitors animals in the Antarctic. Ok,yawn.

Dr Peter: How much carbon can grass store? Plenty! Exiting stuff, next.

Dr Alex: Malaria vaccine based on genetic engineering. I feel guilty not voting for this guy as he could actually directly save millions of lives in developing countries. That's a reward in itself though right? Right?

Dr Alan: Injecting boogies into people spine's to make paraplegics walk again. This definitely tops the lot for straight-up mad science.
