You're wrong there Rodger, you can stay in the same category for years as long as you are climbing within the grade range for that section. This is why there was a problem with B grade men- they HAD entered in the wrong division (perhaps unintentionally) as they onsighted harder than the grade range specified for the category. Routesetters are aiming to separate climbers of differing abilities. Therefore if you have one person way ahead of the others, you do not need to test them, just make sure the others fall off!
You were judging, and had to be told to watch the climber as you were looking for the ACT coach at the time- pretty crappy me thinks! |
