No, I'm not talking about that particular organ, after a good night out.

Organ donation is a pretty sweet gig, as you can be altruistic and save lives without having to worry about being squeamish. None of that icky blood stuff and needles for us organ donors! And there is a slim chance that you will ever be in a position to donate anyway.

Seeing as we are generally fit and healthy people who also happen to be at relatively high risk of head injuries, we are good candidates.

Your family will make the call, and it's great for them if they know your wishes in advance. Then, when the time comes, they don't have to second guess what you would have wanted (and can feel positive about something good coming from your death - sounds morbid, but it's true).
