They are not always agressive. It can depend on the species of bee, their diet, time of year and temperature. And if someone comes and starts screwing with them.

Yeah not just western civilisation but all of it. Theres a doco somewhere about what might happen if bees were to become extinct.
If there was a rare killer monkey living on this route im sure no one would want to go out and destroy it its only because its a hive of bees that are many in number and easily killed that people want to kill them.
