Im part of a group of people that have been chatting about it, as mentioned, it would take a lot of effort to keep the site "live" , editing , coding and etc.. not to mention dealing with the spam from all the companies trying to flog their latest product as being the greatest invention to date.. (perhaps a section dedicated to such.. i dunno)
What we have in mind is as damo wrote, a central repository for alternative.. sports and news etc, we dont want it to be 100% focused upon those in the community that have already made their mark, but for anyone out there and doing stuff.. (of course, no one wants to read about your average 16yo who went fishing at his local creek etc)
The key to it all is having contributions continually submitted, ive got enough in stock at the moment to fuel a couple weeks worth, but if it dries up thereafter, then its been a bit of a waste of time for all..
