Having spent a pleasant Easter at Kaputar using the very outdated, and hard to orientate now that all the initials are fading into obscurity, Rock Guide I was hoping to get some info so the ACA site can be brought up to date. Things seemed to have changed quite a bit even from my last visit in 2006:
For instance
THe Governor: many routes now have rap anchors at 50m above the ground and some routes have BRs not mentioned in the guide. Some eg Clandestiny are obvious from the ground, but the route to its left, Cryptic, has 2 BRs that seem new.
Euglah Rocks: there are heaps of new rap points especially on the north face wheras the east side is getting overtaken by moss. There are many new bolted lines in between the older trad routes mainly up the aretes. Direct bolted starts have been added to some of the wandery trad lines. Mostly bolts are fixed hangers, but one very hard route on ring bolts.
Lindsey Rocks: Large adrenaline hangers on about 5 or so new routes and some added rap points. These definitely werent here in 2006. THe Idle Rich has definitely been retrobolted with 2 FHs in addition to a carrot and a piton (and I was glad about that!)
So clearly some people have been pretty busy and it would be good to know what the new routes are and who should get credit for them. More info would make planning the day much more user friendly (especially for my climbing partners).
