Gifts for climbers

Hey! I'm relatively new to rock climbing, and I'm hoping to get one of my climbing pals a gift for his birthday. What sort of climbing gear do you think would make a good gift?

I came across this guide to climbing gifts and I'm thinking chalk is probably a safe bet. But I wanted to get some more opinions.

I think a tongue drum from the local non franchise music store would make a nice gift. Nice resonating sound. Or a few music albums like Bob Moulds latest one, or maybe Kreator-Gods of Violence, or how about Swiftboi's seminal masterpiece 'hectoplasm' , hmmm, oh. Wait. Does this person actually climb? Like really? Then there is only one answer. One gift. A theracane. Dont even click on this dumb online link. Just go to a physio clinic, and get them a theracane. If they dont like it thats even better.

I hadn't even thought about non-climbing gifts, but these are great suggestions (lol). Surely all climbers love tongue drums! Bit pricey though.

What price would you put on Nirvana?
I think this is the best post bro EW has given Chocky and I’m interested in attending his next music gig, as he’s obviously into it, though I’m not sure if the theracane is for post gig or post climbing recuperation.

Hmm, climbing gear as gifts.
So much to choose from but the trick would be suiting the need and that would vary with the style of climbing said pal is into.

For example, a boulderer wouldn’t know one end of an ice tool from the other and I doubt a mountaineer would want a mat above base camp.
