I'm thinking of getting the Bikila's.

Anyone have a pair of them- and how do they go for running?

I've been discussing these with my lecturer, for proprioception and to retrain the arches in my feet (I've got collapsed arches)
I swear by my orthotics, so it'll be a big move to go from lots of support to nothing!

I have a pair of the sprints and they are great up until the moment the ground gets rocky, pebbly or sharp in nature. I found walking to Tiger Wall to be fairly unpleasant. I have been eyeing of the Komodosport as it appears to have a thicker sole.

I own the KSO and love them.

That's what they're made for. Do start slowly though as you use different muscles!

I have semi flat feet and normally where insoles on some description. But as I said I love these. Our feet aren't made for shoes.

Each to their own really. I haven't found any issues with them at Arapiles and they are now my regular approach shoe.

I have never had a problem on talus. The only difficulty I believe is on steep hills with smaller slippery scree on a hard base, here slipping and sliding is almost inevitable and more protective footwear is desirable.

When bush bashing or in other areas where you can't easily see your feet you will travel faster with heavy footwear as you don't need to pick and choose your footing as much.

Cheers for your reply!!
I think what I mean, is how well do they wear, robustness of the shoe? Didn't wear them out in two or three runs? hehe

I suspect it will vary a fair bit between users. I can't give you a straight answer on that one.

They are thin soled and have siping so they will wear readily if abused. However due to my individual running/walking style I don't tend to wear out shoes I have shoes that I have worn for thirteen years that still are ok. Currently my 5fingers show little signs of wear but I don't used them every week.
