This is a really great reminder that there's a lot we don't know about bolt failure mechanisms. I checked out the cragchemistry site and it's super interesting. Great to see actual science being conducted to answer some of these questions.
This could have turned out very differently if the climber used something static as a safety!

Here is a positive thought. This could have turned out very differently if the climbers had either used trad protection or simply top roped the route.
