That kind of thing wouldn't happen on Chocky surely?
;-)

Could it be if it was chipped then it may just have been existing shallow pockets drilled deeper??

It is bad enough if it ever happens in Australia. Why the f--- would we care if the foreigners want to f--- up their routes?

If? Like it doesn't happen here...

Having climbed some brilliant manufactured routes here and OS - I am not going to criticise though I haven't manufactured holds myself.

I'm not saying that chipping is necessarily a bad thing, some of my favorite routes are chipped. I just reckon it's a little naive to see that long sequence of deep pockets spaced that far apart, and not wonder about the statistical likelihood of it occurring naturally.

Just as naive to assume it couldn't happen (Although in this case it looks like it didn't..). Just about any classic route has a freakish combination of perfectly placed holds.

Not really. The harder the route gets, the more unlikely it becomes. A lot of classic medium-hard routes will still have a bunch of different holds which can be used, looks like the loss of any one of those monos would render that thing impossible.

Also, a lot of classic hard routes are enhanced at least a little bit.

Statistically speaking such a route is almost certain given the amount of rock in the world.

The amount of rock which is within spitting distance of the carpark?

Your capacity for negativity knows no bounds. Keep up the good work.

The video made it quite clear it was a donkey park. Not a carpark.

I do get the feeling that you overestimate your perceptiveness from time to time.

Sorry, you're right. The route fairy really exists, and blesses humanity with all the awesome hard climbs. Thank god she has access to tons of glue.

Hey Hipdos, wanna post up a list of your favorite hard routes? I bet at least a couple of them are modified, and you haven't even noticed.

Route fairies do exist. You just need to believe.

Damo - you seem to have a record of dissing peeps on everest. Fking right on...however I cant track it down but I seem to remember you getting slammed by some guy just after innocent advice for treckng to basecamp. I did a quick look but couldn't find it. Really appreciate it if you could find it for me,

Ah, that one was classic. Probably 2 or 3 years ago though. I seem to remember him obsessing about pants.....which pants did he need for a 4wd tour into the basecamp on the Tibetan side? Then I teased him a bit and he massively lost his shit. Good times!

I think the chocky search function is stuffed, it just times out on me.
