Hi All,
I am looking to find someone to guide me on my first Portaledge experience!
I am 25 located in Victoria but willing to travel, fit and a reasonably good climber, although the majority of my climbing is bouldering indoors...
As I don't have any of the equipment I would be happy to pay the cost associated with borrowing some and of course provide good times and enthusiasm throughout the trip! Please let me know if you can help of you know of a freelance guide who would be interested in something like this.
Thank in advance !
Hugo

How to live on a portaledge

A bit lightweight ... and likely just one of many such vids I assume.

Helpful videos aside, doesn't one choose a route that requires a portaledge and then proffer one's services hauling the pig on the forum on said route? Or do you just want to pot 15 metres up any old route and camp? Don't forget the wag bag!

$1,398.00 AUD
Wow. How much of that covers insurance? :P

My guess would be not much, based on the following non-logic;
To possess a portaledge it’s likely the owner is old school.
Old school climbers tend to be more anarchy minded.
Anarchy lends itself to not following the dictates of red tape.
Minimal red tape helps maximise profit margins.
Yes, I’m bored, so feel free to disagree.

Climbing a “big” wall is how it should work but I’ve often slept on small walls all over; Werribee Gorge, Staughton Vale, Araps, Buffalo, in trees... My kids used to love it. Now I’m terribly uncool they only hop on it when their friends see it for the first time.

Hi Hugo,
We can certainly provide you with some options especially if you keen to come climbing on Mt Buffalo.
If you would like to email me your details at bookings@brightadventurecompany.com.au, I will get in touch and have a chat about what you would like to do.
Cheers

Thanks guys. Although I suspect we may be interacting with a bot. I had no idea wall camping was a thing. Nor can I imagine teens/preteens crapping in a bag for fun! I guess times have certainly changed. The young people today...

Being grossed out comes with a healthy participation price these days bro, and as long as it’s served up with a smile and maybe some alcohol or cake, the new to it generation will lap up a supposedly unique experience eagerly.
You didn’t know wall camping is a thing, yet you’re a ‘Friendly neighborhood seppo‘, from where it became formalised on the hallowed walls of Yosemite?
