The 2nd day. A bit late but what the heck.
I woke up stiff and sore from saturdays aid climbing (it is soo worth it). I had my brekky in the tent before falling out of it for the day ahead. Things were a little slow startng between the grouyp except for Fish Boy and I so we drove out to the Devils couch to get into the climbing. Fish Boy started the day by trying a super cool looking grade 23 overhung hand crack that widend until it was a chimney. Afetr a few good cracks at it Nick gave up and down aided it to retreave his gear. By then everyone else had showed up and were aiding themselves silly. All of the good aid lines were busy so i borrowed Nicks Yates ladder aiders to have a feel of them. They were awsome! straight away i was quicker (even if it was still slow going) and i was getting up higher on the aiders easier.
I then grabbed some hooks and had a bit of a muk around on some hook moves. After a few blown hook moves i spied a nice hole that would hold my weight ( i got m9 to check it out and weight it first) so i stood up and down on it a few times and this is when i found this hard new line of mine. well not mine but anyway. it would be 30m of hooking and too scary for the likes of me and probably to crap and ut of the way for others.
Fish Boy and i then made a hasty retreat to some burgers and drinks down the mountain.
After my aiding experiences im hooked. Im ordering some ladder aiders and daisys when i get around to working out mtntools stupid ordering thing! And then its off to some nice crack lines!

I suggest you try backcountrygear.com . Their ordering system is much simpler than mountain tools and the prices are the same.

That was no hand crack....
Another good option for stuff is fish. Russ makes some primo stuff like etts, ladders, heads and ledges...
