TR: Perrys Lookdown - Red Edge and Regular Route

Back again,

I actually wrote most of this a few weeks ago, and published it a bit over a week ago, but I forgot to share it here. I guess I've been climbing too much.

In my latest Blog Update "Perry's Lookdown: Back in Fashion!" I cover Neil Monteith and My repeat of the iconic adventure route "Red Edge" at Perry's Lookdown, as well as the more recent addition "The Regular Route". There's also a brief writeup about my send of Big Red (27) at Corroboree Walls.

Please note: If CJ writes something negative here about The Regular Route, feel free to completely ignore him. Bwahahaha! (though his criticism of the route does have some validity... it's just quite over-exaggerated).

Be safe,

Nice one Paul, I always enjoy your TRs.

You mention that Big Red was de-bolted, I guess that was re-bolted?

The old bolts were removed after the new bolts were placed. 3 x longer and harder than the rebolt as I hadnt settled on the grinder option back then.

+1, and I'd also add that your adventure climbing resume is one that would make many envious!

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I've got a good group of climbing contemporaries who are suckers for an adventure route to keep me keen.

Evan and Dr Chris's rebolt of Red Edge was really good. They also did an excellent job of camouflaging the holes where the old bolts were.

Did they snap off deep in the hole, or twist out complete?
