I'd appreciate an update as to the current state of the watertank (how full etc) and also the condition of
the road to the campsite. Its been a while since i've been there and don't want to be caught out by
assuming "things never change".
cheers

Bit of an 11th hourish (or beyond), question given it was posted on Good Friday at 8:08:04 PM !
To be safe I'd take water and assume the road is in bad nick.

Fair enough.
I was tricked by your thread title ' Moonarie Easter 08'.

Was there a while ago...... but the road won't have changed that much, it was bad , but passable.
The tank was full, but that might have changed allot by now, just take water and go for it mate.
Gotta love the weather up there right now, perfect sending conditions.

Thanks for the response...but in what sort of car was it passable? I'm about to book a hire car and
want to know if I should cough up the extra $$ for an AWD.
As for the water - of course i'll take it up with me (to bottom camp)...but I am a lazy f--- and would
rather not lug water up the track if i didn't have to. Someone please let me know if the tank is full
now!!

The road's always been bad but I manage to get my bodgy old van up there, and my bodgy charade before that. No need for a 4wd.

in regards to the water tank at moonarie. sometimes its full sometimes not. its really not that hard to
bring a litre or 2 up from bottom camp, especially if most of your gear is at top camp already. please try
to conserve the water in the tank by bringing some of your own up every day. it was quite a big effort to
carry that tank up to the crag.

thanks Wendy. It sounds like nothing has changed too much since I was there last.
As for the water ... forgive my curiosity - life would have gone on if I got no response....I'm still curious if
anyone knows any recent info.

just came back from moonarie, the road is normal, no better or worst than in the past and the tank is pretty full.

Hey stu, the water and road are fine. What you do have to watch out for is the routes up there. Some wankers in the 90s put up a bunch of shite routes, under graded them and gave them all three stars. Don't know what they were thinking... I would avoid the place myself and maybe think about Norwa.
Have a good trip.

dont worry I'll be avoiding those routes like the plague and concentrating on the overbolted, overgraded and overhyped shite thats been done recently.

Where is this mythical place called Norwa?
If the climbing was any good there, I am sure I would have heard of it before now!
... & your not going to disappoint me and say it is a typo for Nowra are you?
Heh, heh, heh.
