I had an opportunity last week to catch a glimpse of the Pinnacles Sentinels and Gable End out in the Avon Wilderness. Anyone been out there for a climb?

A couple of pics:

That would be The Sentinels. Yes, I've climbed there and would be keen to go back but I don't have a proper 4wd to get there. Did you check out Picture Point on the way past? There's a real cliff.

Thanks James, sorry yes you are right I got distracted trying to put the pictures in and typed the wrong name. Amended the post above. I can't find any info on Picture Point, can you divulge a bit more?

Climbed Blue Murder and Purple Haze 21 years ago. Drove in by Rav 4

Tried to go back this year in an Outlander but chickened out of the drive up from Moroka Gap (I suppose the road deteriorated in the mean time).

Wandered into Picture Point instead. Desperate walk due to fire regrowth. The cliff turned out being too big and scary for us - and we didn't even get to the main face.

Would be keen for a trip to Gable End next summer if someone has a suitable vehicle.

Rupert,
Picture Point is about 5 km due north of The Sentinels. Big west facing cliff that you pass when walking into Lake Tarli Karng, but not visible from anywhere much.

Thanks James that makes sense, I actually thought that cliff was Neilson Crag but I see that I was way off. There are so many cliffs scattered through that area both small and large. There is a heap of stuff north and south of the Sentinels and also East across the plateau above Miowera. Those big vertical terraces at Bryces Gorge look impressive too!
