Access changes Mt Boyce Blue Mts 16-Jan-2018 At 7:52:28 AM Mr Poopypants
Message
Hi Folks

The following came through from the railways. Basically they are closing all access to Boyce from the Mt. Vic end from 18/1/18 to 9/2/18 for track works.

Naturally, they might take longer. Please keep off the foot track and road from the Mt. Vic end (Fairy Bower) during this time, as we are still negotiating a permanent solution to access, and the railways are being quite sensible and helpful.

You will still be able to get in from the Blackheath (Station St) end.
Please be friendly and courteous with railway staff if approached, there have been a few problems of late.

PM me if you have any queries.

Cheers

G.

You may or may not be aware that Sydney Trains will be carrying out construction works in the Rail Corridor from the Access gate at Fairy Bower Reserve towards half way to Blackheath. Signage will be installed this week.

The work will be commencing on 18/01/2018 and continue until approximately 09/02/2018.

As you are aware, there is an agreement for access to the Rock Climbing area (from Fairy Bower reserve) to be accessed by foot only, via the walking track depicted on the signage displayed.

This is set in place due to the ST maintenance track being on Sydney Trains property and is unsafe, and unlawful to enter the rail corridor.

There is still the agreed access arrangements from Blackheath (Station St) access gate which is left open due to this area of land having part council and Sydney Trains boundaries.

During this time, due to Work Health Safety Regulations, access, for whatever reason, cannot be allowed.

You can understand that it is my responsibility to enforce these regulations as I will be personally accountable if they are not implemented?

If you intend to walk through this section can you please use the allocated walking track, and if you have driven through this section, please cease doing so and utilise the agreed access areas from Blackheath?

I have placed signage at each access gate.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate in contacting me.
