Trackwork this weekend, too far to deal with that.

Final game of cricket for the season, this weekend.

Grenfell B Grade all out for 10, last weekend. I scored 5.

And you've always told me you were a bowler.

Who thrashed you?

A team from Cowra. One of their opening bowlers got 7 for 3.

Good thing we batted first.

Home or away? I imagine you have good Cowra pub beta?

Whats the sleeping round the rocks situation? Can you stay at the boulders or is a campground or pub stay nessecary?

Beware the 'bottom pub', ie the one close to the river at west end of town.
It has locals who don't mind helping themselves to the contents of your car if parked there long enough...*
(*read less than two schooners ought to do it!).

I got my favourite stubbie holder from the pub by the bridge "Ralley in the Valley, The Body is Evil and Must be Punished".

Weddin Mtn photos?

Is the Cowra bouldering just to the north east of the town?

M9 Wyangala Dam bouldering. I've been google earthing, where are the boulders? Can you have a look and give me some coordinates?

Cowra boulders are in Bellview Park Reserve and Col Stinson Park.

The ones at Col Stinson Park are the ones in the photo Hawkman posted. They are just near the skate park.

I checked out the Bellview Park ones and found what may be a few established problems and potential for a lot more.

No Weddin pics yet.

Basically on the right hand side of the dirt road about 1km west of Wyangala village. The rock outcrops extend over the hill till out of sight of the road.

As you know, I am not a boulderer as such, but I do remember enjoying* a fist crack splitting a face that was above sloped ground, and therefore not an ideal falling off type of route, especially with no spotter or mat! It is probably only V2 (or less?), for grade, but OK if you have any crack technique!
For anyone looking for bouldering problems, I imagine it is the most obvious thing there, and clearly visible from the road.
I did other problems there (mostly higher on the hill), but they were less memorable for me, from a 'bouldering is only practise for trad' perspective!

(*It was probably the first time I ever actually seriously went bouldering, and it was specifically to do that splitter crack after I saw it while passing one day. It brings back memories of an early morning topout on it, that I was well pleased with, especially after mentally blocking out the landing ☺).

Resurrecting a dead thread to say thanks for the Pine Rocks tip M9, well worth the ~15 minute drive out of town.

Wyangla must be pretty low and they are doing some limited release water at present. Since this thread started combat and I paddled a section lower than the dam, no rock porn. Have heard good thing though about the boulders from a mate who climbed as a kid. Orange sounds good.

Haven't been to Wyangla, too far for me.

The Pine Rocks area was quite good, I followed M9s GPS coords in this thread somewhere, went out yesterday. I got side tracked at some rocks ~250m before I got to the exact area but plenty to play on.
