Want to know exactly where escape starts. i see the direct start (the great escape) but can't see where you lean across for the 26 version....douglas? Dr G?

From what i hear al, the direct start aint much harder than the original, you may as well try the whole thing. Andy says its pretty good.

Just do the whole thing, crux at the top anyway... softest 28 around.

You basically pull into the line at the huge handjam (wire) above the DS and just below a jug. I agree though with the other guys - you should try the DS anyway, maybe after you've done the top section. Despite being soft, it is classic climbing - and would be a lot harder if you were short.

cool, dierct it is! and yeah, any 'normal height' persons beta is pretty much useless, as i try to skip as many of the crux holds as possible usually.....
