Hi everyone.

I'm reaching out to see if there is anyone who would be interested in and qualified to build a climbing wall.

Firstly, a little bit about myself and the project. My name’s Ti and I’ve recently started a PhD at RMIT at a lab called Exertion Games. Our lab investigates human-computer interaction (HCI), and we specifically focus on coupling the body with technology for play–either rule-based games or open-ended play.

My own research, broadly speaking, looks at technology for climbing. My study will require climbers to undertake a short climb while wearing some technology such as an AR headset. To undertake this research, my supervisor has agreed to (and actually advocates for) building an indoor climbing wall/ woody in our lab.

The requirements of the woody are:
Dimensions (approx. 2.5m wide, 3m tall)
Must be able to be dismantled and moved to different locations.
Can change angles from vertical to overhanging about 15-20 degrees.

I’m looking for:
Someone who has experience with building a woody
Someone who can interpret those design specifications and build this
Someone who can deliver a completed wall: the holds, t-nuts, fall matting, timber and provide one quote.

Please feel free to email me if you feel you have the required skills to complete this, or you know someone who would be interested in this job. This is a paid job through RMIT.

My email details are:
ti (at) exertiongameslab (dot) org

That's a good point! I agree. Specs will need to be reviewed.

Hi Ti!
You'll want to speak with Mark Buchanan at Radwall. Aside from impeccable credentials on building gyms, they built a trailer-based portable wall for fairs and the like.
