Good point, and I stand corrected!
OK, multiple footlocks till the abseiler is above their device, with enough slack to dis-engage beard!
As mentioned earlier, a prusik would be preferable!

Thinking about it some more, I'd pull up the tail of the rope, half hitch it at full arms reach above the device and lock it off by handgrip, while ensuring the loop created was sufficiently small to stand up in, then repeat this process until weight was off the device, as it would be a little more secure than effectively standing in balance on a one armed chinup!

Another alternative would be to carry a Yates-device instead of a prusik

Looks like a kids version of Tough Mudder. Or maybe I should say, Tough Mudder is an adult developed version of the Scout Jamboree. I would imagine they didn't have the electrical shock course in the kids one though. Looks fun!

So....were these holds bolted on a real rock or piece of clay? Or is the whole thing artificial?
