I'm stoked 'cause John Fantini said he'd take me climbing at Point Perp - or should I be scared???

I'm stoked about going to Buffalo on Sunday. That will be my 40th day of climbing this year (counting 2 half days as a whole day). Not bad, but I was aiming for 50.

Hey Rod, I'm also stoked that all my gear came in from the states, including a pile of aiding gear - it's time to organise an aid-fest! What was the idea for a chockstone meet? Mt Buff new year? Maybe have an aid section...

I'm stoked from the chuckle I had after hearing this Lemonheads song on the radio this morning (perhaps I'm behind the times but I hadn't heard it before):

THE OUTDOOR TYPE

Always had a roof above me
Always paid the rent
But Ive never set foot inside a tent
Cant build a fire to save my life
I lied about being the outdoor type

Ive never slept out underneath the stars,
The closest that I came to that was one time my car
Broke down for an hour in the suburbs at night
I lied about being the outdoor type.

Too scared to let you know you knew what you were looking for
I lied until I fit the bill God bless the great indoors
I lied about being the outdoor type
Ive never owned a sleeping bag let alone a mountain bike

I cant go away with you on a rock climbing weekend
What if somethings on tv and its never shown again
Its just as well Im not invited Im afraid of heights
I lied about being the outdoor type

Never learned to swim cant grow a beard or even fight
I lied about being the outdoor type

I aided those roof arches for a couple of weeks at night in 2000 setting anchors and dropping cables for painting platforms to be winched up! Still got the cack white-green paint on some shorts! Scariest bit was the triple extension ladder off the juliet balcony to get onto the start of the arch. Triple lanyard climb from there up to the roof was kinda fun though.

I'm stoked I'm still climbing despite my long time climbing partner giving up climbing for gardening.

I was there in the 90's - but only remember "No rain" and a few other Lemonheads songs. I thought this might be a recent addition and then though Evan Dando was dead? But it didn't sound like him anyway....

March next year :)

(wish i was stoked about climbing - but the 2nd shoulder surgery for 2007 has put climbing on the back
burner again)

When i hear "No Rain" i think of the Blind Melons song. man the film clip to that was weird, but brings
good memories of old times

*snigger*, i didn't we'd be doing much climbing!!!
Jan always turns out to be the best time to go, easier to escape work, no uni etc. i liked the winter and spring weather up there though much more pleasant!

Also STOKED cos i woke up this morning to find tickets for a band that i had wished would come out, on sale and cheap; done deal!!!
