My guess is less than half of the chockstone crew could drive all the way to Arapiles. Day trips are much better for all i imagine.

maybe we could all go to melton creek for some serious bouldering action! apparantly there are a few highballs there to have a crack at, boardering on death solos. Then afterwards, we could quickly go back to phils place and write a 3 page trip report on what a magnificant day we all had a melton creek, the bouldering mecca less then an hour out of melbourne!!

Very funny Al....
Melton creek is a serious place.... With a host of MEGA clasic trad test pieces.... The wealth of home made gear, shit (human and animal) and loose rock only adds to the charm of the place.....
My local crag holds special memories 4 me as it was the first place i realised i had super human strength when i ripped a TV sized block of the wall.....
Long live the creek.... Lets keep it beuatifull (and boulderer free)

Furthermore, this crag is a testiment to the artfull and futuristic bolting efforts of a young Matthew Brooks. In my oppinion Melton creek is up there with the best cgras in the state...
1. Bullengerook Slate Quarry
2. Staughton Vale
3. Melton Creek
That is all......

hahaha phil,
Im glad you trying to keep boulderers off the un-interupted towering cliff lines!

I think you should extend that list to include G-Land...

As I understand it rocks are a bit like icebergs, lots more UNDER the ground than above. So maybe we could all go to a lesser known crag, BBQ and shovels in hand, and dig ourselves a newer, closer, Watchtower or similar...

then its settled? i'll bring the dynomite and the earthmoving equipment. Jaquie may need to quadruple the amount of beer as last time, as i think it will take quite a bit of alcohol to realise the true potential of the crag. Be sure to have VCC on the phone the entire day, as 3 star classics will be in abundance by the days end i'm sure!

I think they should put a cage around it and protect the original routes for historical interest - including the resident drunk.

We must have just missed you Rupert. We were just about to start Witch when the lighning started. Still I reckon it's a good spot for the next gathering. It's only really rained up there about 2 or 3 times in the last couple of months.
