I was in the same house when the '85 fire came through. That one came within 250m of us, this one is somewhat further away. Fire plan has been activated though.
PS Too hot for you and Bourge out there today?

So are you saying slashing is coming back in fashion or that genX is lost in the 'dagz' of time?

Re playing silly buggers.
>"When you're rock climbing there's rules," he said.
??
I thought that article was pretty ordinary in that it combined a lot of gossip type opinion with a few facts.
It left me wondering about public perception of climbers and how our image affects our credibility.
My condolences go to the bereaved.

It was front page of the paper, with a photo (of the climber quoted in the article posing in a Hobart alley way with a rope and hexes slung over his shoulder). So yes, quite a lot of negetive exposure for the sport.

Two pitches of stunning arętes and all bolts. A great bad weather option when the Tote is being hammered by the swell. Fix a 60m rope to double rings as for the Totem Pole descent but rap diagonally towards the ocean (south east) heading down a scungy corner to a ledge. Continue rapping down wall below to arrive at double FHs on small ledge just left of knife blade aręte about 5m above the ocean. Pitch One 40m 24 – Climb amazing sustained aręte past 10 FHs that get fairly spaced as you get higher. Belay at vegetated ledge at DBB. Pitch Two 15m 20 – Up thin crack splitting aręte above with great exposure to small ledge. Sling tooth with large sling and climb easily to top. Belay off the Tote’s rap rings.
