'...After the Mabo decision, uncertainty surrounded whether native
title claims over pastoral leases would extinguish these leases.
The Wik Decision in 1996 clarified the uncertainty. The court
found that the statutory pastoral leases under consideration
by the court did not bestow rights of exclusive possession on
the leaseholder. As a result, native title rights could co-exist depending
on the terms and nature of the particular pastoral lease.
Where there was a conflict of rights, the rights under the
pastoral lease would extinguish the remaining native title
rights. The decision found that native title could coexist
with other land interests on pastoral leases, which
cover some 40% of the Australian land mass...'.

... one thing that has not been considered in this debate is that 5+ decades of Victorian climbing actually constitutes ' SIGNIFICANT CULTURAL HERITAGE ' ...

....the other issue is that world class climbs and crags CAN be reduced to mediocre crap by the next generation wanting to bolt all the gaps...the Free Route on the Totem Pole WAS a ' world class ' climb...it is now just another varient on some obscure pillar of coastal dolerite...

You know that you can do something about that don't you bro?
Damo is having another T-shirt run done, so I'm pretty sure you could be added to the list...

2019 DAKAR
The official line:
09:53 Australian Toby Price wins his second Dakar!
Has won the last stage of the Dakar 2019 and wins the world’s biggest rally-raid for the second time, following his triumph in 2016. It was a performance of genuine class from the KTM rider who left everyone in his wake in Lima, beating José Cornejo by 2’21 to crown 10 extremely difficult days for the Australian who rode throughout the race with an injury to his scaphoid bone, which occurred several weeks before the Dakar.

Recent TP DAKAR's by number...

2013 - broken neck while training with KC#66 :bow in Lucerne Valley CA, USA. Suspected quad/paraplegia circumvented with multiple surgeries to neck vertabrae (ti rods still in place)

DAKAR 2015 - rookie debut 3rd. (tied as only rookie to ever podium DAKAR - along with fellow Aussie - Andy Haydon KTM 1998).

DAKAR 2016 - 1st.

DAKAR 2017 - Broken femur - crashed while in battle for the lead, during first week.

DAKAR 2018 - 3rd. (while recovered from 2017 season off - from femur injury - only two months short prep for DAKAR)

DAKAR 2019 - 1st (with broken scaphoid - only six weeks out from DAKAR)

Five DAKAR's... two thirds... two wins... a lot of pain and sacrifice... a lot of talent.
