Hey guys ive never climbed in vic before. My wife is heading over for a coarse in august, so why not make it a climbing trip.
I realise im coming in the wrong season so was hoping i could get some beta.
Dry areas? Do these exist in august.

Depends on the forecast ... If you are really lucky and get a week of mid teens, sun and no wind, plenty routes at Araps will be fine. If it's raining, there are a few caves in the gramps that will be mostly dry but probably miserable. there's a list on here somewhere if you search for it. Asses Ears are a sunny gramps cliff and you can follow the sun around summer day valley throughout the day. most other cliffs are best either morning or afternoon. Guide book will show you their orientation.

Do you have a climbing partner lined up?
Type of climbing preferred?
Grades?
If no partner, Araps for routes is the only real option in finding partners. Weather is weather - can be almost anything in August...

Ok thanks guys. Guess ill have to prey for weather.
I prefer trad and have a climbing partner who wants to come.
Otherwise it may be the long drive to climb some ice at blue lake. Although it may be to late in season for that even.
Ive only done aid once and was realy looking forward to ozzy i think its called in mt buffalo. Being aid i thaught it might be miserable but doable.
