Name the song / singer - climbing references... |

Thought I'd start a new thread in a similar vein to the old Chockstone one regarding naming the route involved, but instead of a photo, a line or more is provided from the song...
The caveat is that the clue/s provided must reference climbing / mountaineering, even if kind of vaguely in the sense that the singer may not be a climber, but climbers would relate to the sentiment expressed.
Whoever guesses the song and artist, gets to choose the next one for us to have a go at.
Here goes-
"I'm standing on a ledge,
and your fine spiderweb.
is fastening my ankle, to the stone."
Let the guessing begin!
PS; If this one proves to be too cryptic, then I have other climb references from the same song to provide as further clues...

Well, that didn't take long...
Yes, the late great Leonard Cohen, and his song, So Long Marianne.
The other clues from the song would've been...
"I never said I was brave."
and,
"And just when I've climbed this whole mountainside, to wash my eyelids in the rain"

Okay here is one..
"Kinda like a cloud I was up way up in the sky.
And I was feeling some feelings you wouldn't believe.
Sometimes I don't believe them myself and I decided I was never coming down."

Landslide by the Mac off the album Fleetwood Mac (known to Mac'eads as the Rhiannon Album) 1975 I think.

Can't believe I heard about LCs death via chochstone. I discovered him late but have the 'stoner "Bambi" to thank for my introduction.
Bird on a wire - it don't get much better than that.

How embarrassing, it is the self-titled album. I'm going to have a turn anyway.

"Help is on its way", Little River Band, 1979 (had to look up the year)
Next up:
"Beside me now, are strangers to my eyes
It might be getting crazy, might be wise
Stranded either way
Such a lonely place
I'm looking out for you
Among the flies that wait in line
The days on end
The nights are cold
But always so intense"

Can hear Chrissy Amphlett singing those lyrics, but can't remember the name of the song.
